Paul Sheerin began his musical education at the age of 9, taking trumpet and theory lessons with Ger Condon and Ross O’Hea, before studying with Vivienne Johnston and Pam Stainer in the MTU Cork School of Music. 

Paul has also taken part in masterclasses with studio musician Louis Dowdeswell, soloist Andre Giffredii and Jazz Performers Joe Gransden and Paul Booth. 

 After his degree, Paul went to work on cruise ships with P&O Cruises where he played in the ships orchestra, performing with worldwide guest artists. Paul has also worked as a freelance musician, performing with multiple ensembles such as The Irish Youth Wind Ensemble, The Irish Symphonic Wind Orchestra, Cork Philharmonic Winds and CSM Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the CSM Jazz Big Band. 

Paul has also featured as a pit musician for musicals and pantomimes, working with the Kerry School of Music/ Tralee Musical Society, UCC Musical Society and The Everyman Theatre. 

Alongside Paul’s performing, he is part of the teaching staff with The Blarney Brass and Reed Band, where he is also the assistant conductor of the band.
