Italian-born Matteo Lo Bracco embraces an international career as a versatile musician. He enjoys a diverse musical life as a teacher, orchestral player and chamber musician. He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Limerick for the PhD in Arts practice.

Matteo is a passionate music teacher and has collaborated with the ICO Youth department and the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance in Limerick. He has provided tuition to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced. He has worked at Clare Music Makers School of Music in Ennis and collaborated with several musical institutions in Italy.

Matteo started his musical journey at the age of 6, attending the Italian conservatories of Florence, Livorno and Genoa. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in 2020 and his first Master’s degree in 2023. In 2022 he attended the Xenia Chamber Music Course, where he met André Swanepoel. The Principal Second Violin of the Irish Chamber Orchestra became his mentor. In 2025 Matteo earned his second Master’s degree in Classical String Performance at the University of Limerick, in collaboration with the Irish Chamber Orchestra.

Matteo was selected for the Rising Stars Concert of 2025 by the University Concert Hall in Limerick. He was a semi-finalist in the 2024 Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year competition. He has been awarded the 2023 Lyric FM Scholarship from RTÉ and a Caript Foundation Scholarship for young people with an outstanding career.

Matteo is regularly invited to perform with orchestras and in chamber music ensembles, including the Festival Puccini Symphonic Orchestra and the Respiro String Quartet. He served as concertmaster of the Camerata del Gentile Orchestra, leading performances across the Marche region in aid of those impacted by the 2016 earthquake.

He has taken part in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Andrey Baranov, Stefan Milenkovich, Christoph Schickedanz, Julia Berinskaya, Corrado Bolsi and Josep Colomé. He has participated in national and international festivals such as Entroterre, Mascagni Festival, Leonel Morales and Friends.
