Heather Nash is joining us this year and teaches Voice, Trumpet and Piano at Musica Fusion. She is currently studying the BMus course in Cork School of Music, specialising in the trumpet.
Heather is an enthusiastic chorister and ensemble musician. She is a past member of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland, the Irish Youth Brass Band and the Irish Youth Training Choir and is a current member of the Irish Youth Wind Ensemble. A past student of the Limerick School of Music, Heather has studied voice to a grade 8 level with Emma English as well as trumpet and music theory to a grade 8 level with Michael Dooley.
In 2018 Heather was awarded the Philip Walsh memorial award by the ABRSM examination board for achieving the highest distinction in a grade 8 Voice examination in Ireland and Northern Ireland that year.
In January 2019 Heather won the Advanced Brass category competition in the Féile Luimnigh. As well as taking part in music courses, Heather also enjoys playing in many local ensembles such as Limerick Philharmonic Orchestra, University of Limerick Orchestra and Boherbuoy Brass and Reed Band.
In 2018 Heather was awarded a scholarship to a summer brass course in Berklee College, Boston after participating in Berklee’s collaborative jazz course with DCU, ‘Groove School’. Heather is very excited to share her love and passion for music with all of her students!
